Terms & Conditions
Note: The terms & conditions apply to all transactions on this website. Please read them carefully as use of this website and all orders placed assume acceptance of them.
Trial Period:
- Saddles
To ensure that you and your horse are comfortable in your new saddle we offer a trial period of 7 days! You should get in at least 1-3 good rides to see that the saddle works for you. If no notice has been received by the 7th day of a trial purchase the saddle will be considered sold and will no longer be returnable. This allows us to replenish our stock saddles in a timely manner, so that we continue to offer a prompt trial and fitting service for our customers.
During the ‘testing’ period, please treat the saddle carefully and make sure to use a pad under the saddle to keep it clean. If you purchased a pad with your saddle make to use a thin blanket or sheet under it to protect it from any debris (dirt or hair). Keep in mind that this might influence the non-slip performance of the pad. Stirrup leathers and fenders need to be wrapped to avoid making any marks on the saddle, and avoid pulling the stirrups/buckles up after a ride, also. Make sure to re-tighten girth after 10 minutes with all new saddle pads and keep it snug at all times. Do not oil saddle or pre-bend fenders before you are sure you will keep it.
Remember, any Barefoot saddle usually fits because it adapts to you and the horse unlike a conventional treed saddle that rarely ever fits both. Consequently, there is a very good chance that you will be very happy with your saddle. However, if for any reason you decide to return the saddle, please ensure you read and follow the return procedures explained below.
- Special Order Saddles
For customers who know the model and size they want, saddles may be ordered by us and made with options to their specifications directly from Barefoot in Germany. Customers are encouraged to take advantage of our Canadian stock and comprehensive trial program to ensure they have chosen the best size and model for horse and rider. Since each special order saddle is ordered above and beyond our basic stock and to the customer’s specific request, special orders are not returnable. However, they will still fall under our comprehensive 6 month warranty. Barefoot is always prompt to repair or replace any warranty issue that comes up, and with their excellent work, such issues are rare.
- Accessories
Accessories that are ordered as part of a saddle trial are returnable up to the 7th day, just like our stock saddles, unless otherwise specified. Like our saddles they may be tried, as long as they are returned clean, tags attached, and in good condition.
Returns
Return policy:
All products (except used saddle pads and product care items) may be returned within 7 days of you receiving the goods. Please contact us first to receive a return authorization number - no refund will be given without this number!
All Items must be send back to us in the original box, tags attached, insured, with Canada Post’s regular parcel service. Returned saddles that are lost or damaged in shipping and were not insured by the buyer are the buyers responsibility and no refund will be made.
Note:
Unused (includes ‘trial period’, see above): A full item refund can only be given if the saddle and/or accessories are clean, hair-free, original tags attached, and show no evidence of use.
Dirty items: A 15% restocking and cleaning fee applies to saddles returned with any signs of dirt, hair, etc.
Damaged items: Should the saddle and/or accessories be returned damaged or in a condition where it is impossible to sell as new we reserve the right to refuse to refund your purchase.
Upon your parcel’s arrival we will credit your Visa or MasterCard, or issue you a cheque for the original invoice amount, minus the non-refundable shipping and handling charges.
